A is for Anagrams

To find out more about the A to Z Blogging Challenge, click here.

Definition: An anagram is a type of word play, the result of rearranging the letters of a word or phrase to produce a new word or phrase, using all the original letters exactly once. (Wikipedia)

Examples

William Shakespeare <=> I'll make a wise phrase
David Letterman <=> Nerd amid late TV
George Bush <=> He bugs Gore
Tom Marvolo Riddle <=> I am Lord Voldemort
Bruce Springsteen <=> Creep brings tunes
Jennifer Anniston <=> Fine in torn jeans
Princess Diana <=> End is a car spin

Isn't it amazing/scary how they're all true or at least make some kind of weird sense?!

Can you figure these ones out?
(highlight the right side with your mouse to see the answer)

Dormitory <=> Dirty room
Astronomer <=> Moon starer
The Titanic disaster <=> Death, it starts in ice
The eyes <=> They see

If you want to read some more you can click here. Or click here to make your own!

Can you make an anagram from your name?

Rachel Morgan <=> Monarch regal

(And apparently someone once said,
"All the life's wisdom can be found in anagrams. Anagrams never lie."
Well, I think I like my name's anagram ;-) hehehe)

I can't make an anagram from my name that makes any sort of sense in the English speaking world. I love yours though.

A great, fun post!

The anagram didn't work for me either. But this is a fun post. I loved playing with the site.

Fun topic for the challenge! I can make "Ran sad" from my first name; I'd have to play around a little more with my maiden and last names.

Great post. I should get better at doing anagrams. 'It had limes' is an anagram of a well known UK TV chef Delia Smith. :O)

Raider Rangers was the best I was able to come up with.

Oh, that was so cool. Great examples. How did you get your post to do that with the magic mouse trip? It will take me too long to do my name. Maybe some other day.

Good job on this post.

Great Post. I love Anagrams.

I got "Inflated Kernel". And for my blog, Sanguine Musings, I got "A Smug Genius's Inn".

I don't know if I should be worried about either one of them.

Tried making an anagram out of my name, would have been great for my children's books, but the result was a dismal failure. :0)

I've never been much of a one for making anagrams, but I love reading them! Thanks.

Linda Calderone = arcade doll nine. Since I go by reader1107 some places, that makes about the same amount of sense. I wonder who arcade dolls 1-8 are! ;-) Great post for the challenge!
