R is for Random Question

You walk into a bookstore and there are two new books on the table in front of you. One has a supercool eye-catching cover, but a really lame title. The other has a drab and boring cover, but a really clever/witty/funny title. Which one do you pick up first?

Hi,

Cool Title will beat Cool Cover: even though the latter may have caught my eye first off. I'm a word seeker! ;)

Looks like cool cover is the runaway winner! That wins for me, too.

Cool cover is what gets me to open the book but the first couple of pages have to hook me fast before I'll buy.

The cover would probably catch my eye before I even read the titles.

As illogical as it is, I'll go for the preeeeetty cover first.

I like a good title. Piques my curiosity.

With a cool title, but drab cover, you need to pick it up to discover it's inner beauty.

I have to admit I'd pick up the catchy cover first. But in order for me to actually BUY the book, the jacket copy and the first few paragraphs have to convince me first :-)

The cover might be the first to catch my eye, but the title is the one I would actually pick up.

I'm with Alex, I think a cool title would catch my eye. I've seen SO many cool covers and designed many myself, but the title is what really holds my attentions.

I like your question. I can't help but notice the picture first. But the title is a close second.
