Harry Potter Movies Fuel Illegal Owl Trade

Of all the possible Harry Potter-related headlines out there, this has got to be one of the least expected! But I suppose it makes sense... Harry Potter had a pet owl and Harry Potter was cool, so now all the kids in India want a pet owl too.

Seriously? That is so strange. A whole bunch of parents spoiling their kids and threatening the wildlife. Crazy. I think there might be a market for robot like Hedwigs. *scratches head at the stupidity of people*

I'd like to have an owl for a pet. But, I know better. Parents need to learn how to tell their kids no.

I've always thought owls were cool. But, as Quinn suggested, I had parents who not only knew how to say no but raised me to be smart enough to not ask for stupid things like pet owls.

Hmm. I presume my wife realizes I'm joking when I talk about a pet panda...

I've always wanted to have an owl pet, but being able to raise them is a different matter altogether.

*sigh*

I can see wanting to have an owl . . . but do people really need to go out and actually get one?

Oh the poor owls. Anything for a Harry Potter headline eh?

J.K. Rowling never meant to spark such insanity I'm sure. And a nocturnal bird of prey as a pet for a child???? When will people learn?

Ummm one, owls as pets... probably not a great idea. Also, that's insane! What a crazy heading. Thanks for sharing.
