JK Rowling Announces...

I'm still not a hundred percent sure what exactly will be happening at Pottermore, though I did catch the bit about JK sharing additional info about the world of Harry Potter that she's been hoarding for years!
Have you seen the announcement? What do you think?

UPDATE: For more info about Pottermore, read today's Publisher's Weekly article.
I think I understand better now what will be on the new site :-)

I'm not sure either--this is the first I've seen this video!

I'm intrigued by it, though. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what comes of it.

This is the first I have seen of it as well. Though with as popular as HP is- anything shared that has not seen public eyes people will devour.

Interesting.....

It sounds like there will be a virtual vision of the books so that the reader can participate in the story.

I can't wait to find out!

Thanks Rachel for the info.

The fact that she's self-publishing the e-books is awesome, in the true sense of that word. I am filled with awe over this. Mind-boggling and amazing!

Or, she could just write a new book. I get that Harry Potter's awesome and I am a fan, but, you know, there are other stories I'm sure she'd like to tell.

The main thing I took away was that she will offer the series in e-book format while expanding the experience for readers. In effect, I guess I am still a bit lost, too. I'm with Libby; she should write a new book!

If I were her I'd be very uncertain about writing another story, because I'd feel like how could anything else live up to the Harry Potter hype? Surely fans could only end up being disappointed?

I would love to see if she could write something else. I kinda want to see her try. It'd have to be completely different than HP so people don't compare it.

I squeed when she mentioned e-books. Finally! I'm intrigued by the rest.

It is interesting that she'll e-pub these. Thanks for the link!
