Parcel in the Post: Switched & The Iron King

It's the end of my first week back at school and I'm already feeling close to having a nervous breakdown! (picture a headless flapping chicken trying to teach maths to teenagers and organise a book blog tour at the same time) 2012 is going to be an awesome year, but an awesomely PACKED year too. Busybusybusybusybusybusy!!!

Anyway, today I got those things in the post box that make me happy: those little slips of paper that tell me there's a parcel waiting to be collected! So off I went to fetch the two newest additions to my library.

SWITCHED by Amanda Hocking ~ Yeah, okay, I've been meaning to read this for quite some time, but when I saw the beautiful new covers, I knew I had to wait until I could get a paperback version of it!

THE IRON KING by Julie Kagawa ~ Isn't it awesome when you start reading a series and all the books in it are already published?! I've been seeing good things about this series for a while, but now that I'm writing my own faerie stories, I thought it was definitely about time I read these ones!

P.S. Thank you so much to everyone for your awesome cover love for GUARDIAN! Vi can't stop blushing ;-)

Ooo I cannot wait to see your review of Switched! I keep debating on buying this one or not. Yay for The Iron King! I hope you love it!

I read Switched and didn't feel the urge to continue to any of the other books. It's a blatant copycat of twilight. Main girl protagonist. Super rich vamp family (I mean troll family). Awkward girl in a high school that didn't fit in.

I'm so very glad I'm not the only one who sometimes MUST have paperback copies. Actually, I always MUST, if I have any choice in the matter. :)

Hey - re: my email address, I've got it in the "find me" section of my sidebar. I haven't ever actually explained that in a post though so I'm wondering how many people realise it's there. haha. I will email you anyway to save you the trouble of looking again :)

If I had to choose on of the two it would be The Iron King. I'd love to know what you think.

I love it when I find a series and it's already finished! Hope you enjoy your books!

Oh, I love starting a series in which all the books are already published! Then I don't have to wait! It seems lately, I haven't been able to do that. I"m always starting the first book in a series that JUST came out and have to wait FOREVER for the next one!

I thought the same thing when I started reading The Iron Fey. I was so frustrated it took the library a long time to get the trilogy--but then I was very happy they already had the next books. :P

I like to buy paperbacks of my favorite covers too. It makes my office prettier. Who needs paperweights when you can have pretty books? I've heard about the Iron series. It's on the TBR!
