Welcome, Campaigners!

Dearest fellow Campaigners (you are important enough to warrant a capital C)

Welcome to my blog :-)

I'm sorry I haven't been very good at following back or replying to comments in the past few days... This is mainly because a colony of nasty little bugs took up residence in my sinuses on Wednesday night and have been torturing me ever since. (Torture devices include choking me in the middle of the night and periodically blocking off my air supply. It's been great.)

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit and to follow and I'm hoping to get back to you all by the end of the weekend :-)

(No, the bugs are not holding a gun to the inside of my nose and forcing me to say this.)

Cover Love: The Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking

Every now and then I come across a cover I find so stunning that I dedicate an entire post to it. Today I am in love with THREE covers! Specifically, the new covers for Amanda Hocking's Trylle Tilogy.

I think they are insanely gorgeous.

Third Writers' Platform-Building Campaign

It has begun! The Third Writers' Platform-Building Campaign (which I keep wanting to call Crusade by accident, since that was the old name...). If there are any of you who haven't taken part before you should seriously consider it. In the words of the founder, Rach Harrie...

"Basically, the Campaign is a way to link those of us in the writing community together with the aim of helping to build our online platforms. The Campaigners are all bloggers in a similar position, who genuinely want to pay it forward, make connections and friends within the writing community, and help build each others' online platforms while at the same time building theirs."

Six Sentence Sunday (2)

Once again I am too late to link to the official Six Sentence Sunday list (perhaps next week I'll be organised in time!), but I'm posting anyway :-)

She streaks across the room, lamplight reflecting off her scaly skin. I fling my arms into position and feel the prickly warmth of the bow and arrow as they materialize in my hands. I pull back and let go. The arrow zooms across the room in a shower of orange-gold sparks, finding its mark in the woman's shoulder.
She cries out and stumbles, but doesn't fall. She twists her head in my direction and her black eyes find mine before she whispers, "It's happening already."

A to Z Stories of Life and Death

Fellow blogger and writer, Damyanti, has put together an ebook of bite-sized short stories, many of which were written during the epic A to Z Blogging Challenge.

How do you judge a teacher toying with the sexuality of her teenaged student? A boy who decides to murder his mother? What thoughts rage inside a pedophile serial killer before he shoots himself? These are some of the premises of 26 stories of life and death, based on 26 letters of the alphabet. They question the concepts of beauty, truth, and morality, by revealing the face of the other side.

The book is available at Amazon and Smashwords. Well done, Damyanti!

PS. Isn't the cover super-duper awesome?!
