Welcome to the YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors ... and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize--one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online until Sunday 5 October!
Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are SIX contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of TEAM INDIE--but there is also a red team, a gold team, an orange team, a red team, and a blue team for a chance to win a whole different set of signed books!
If you'd like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.

HOW TO "HUNT"
Directions: Look out for my favorite number blow (it's pretty obvious ;-) ). Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on TEAM INDIE, and then add them up (don't worry, you can use a calculator!).
Entry Form: Once you've added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.
Rules: Open internationally. Anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by Sunday 5 Oct, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.
Introducing Author Phillip Simpson...
As part of the hunt, I'm hosting Phillip W. Simpson! He's the author of many novels, chapter books and other stories for children. His publishers include Month9books, Macmillan, Penguin, Pearson, Cengage, Raintree and Oxford University Press. He received both his undergraduate degree in Ancient History and Archaeology and his Masters (Hons) degree in Archaeology from the University of Auckland. Before embarking on his writing career, he joined the army as an officer cadet and owned a comic shop. His first young adult novel, Rapture (Rapture Trilogy #1), was shortlisted for the Sir Julius Vogel Awards for best Youth novel in 2012. His latest YA book, Minotaur, is due for release with Month9books in October, 2015. When not writing, he works as a school teacher. Phillip lives and writes in Auckland, New Zealand with his wife Rose, their son, Jack and their two border terriers, Whiskey and Raffles. He loves fishing, reading, movies, football (soccer) and single malt Whiskeys.
Find out more information by visiting Phillip's website, or check out the latest book in his RAPTURE trilogy, APOCALYPSE!
The seven years of the Tribulation are almost over. The Apocalypse- the final battle between good and evil - is almost upon us and with it, the end of the world as we know it. For the last seven years, the half-demon Samael has battled his inner demons as well as the very real demons that inhabit the desolate, ash-shrouded Earth. Betrayed by Heaven and Hell, cursed by the surviving humans that he strives to protect, separated from all those he loves – Sam’s existence is filled with death and despair. Now he must make a choice. Continue to fight for those he swore to protect or leave them to their fate and join his father in Hell. The Apocalypse is coming and it isn’t going to wait for Sam to make up his mind.
Phillip's BONUS CONTENT is seriously cool. A recent graduate of Sunderland University, Mat Dawson, used Phillip's novel RAPTURE as the inspiration for his final project. So today I give you ... The Concept Art of Rapture!
And don't forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of signed books by me and not 1, not 2, not 13, but EVEN MORE other authors! To enter, you need to know my favorite number (hint: the biggest number listed in this paragraph ;-)) as well as the favorite numbers of all the other authors in TEAM INDIE. Add all the numbers up and you'll have the secret code to enter for TEAM INDIE's grand prize!
CONTINUE THE HUNT
To keep going on your quest for the hunt, you need to check out the next author, Clara Stone!

In addition to the overall grand prize you can win from each team of authors, you can also enter individual giveaways on some of the author's pages. This is one of those!!
I'm giving away a paperback of any one of my books to one lucky winner. If the winner is based in South Africa (like me), I'll send a signed copy. If not, I'll send a copy directly from Amazon to the winner, so it won't be signed. This giveaway is open internationally!

The concept art is very cool. I'm always jealous of people who can draw, paint, etc.

I think it's both dark and creepy but very interesting. Thanks for the #YASHgiveaway!! So Excited!!
I think it is a little creepy with the eyes but fits the title well.
Very cool. Page 14/15 is my favorite!
While I can see the appeal of the concept art... I think I would prefer less red.

I really love the graphics and idea behind it! I can't draw, but these kind of drawings make me wish I could.

Definitely catches the eye!
I think it looks pretty neat. I'd like to see—and learn—more!
Honestly, I think it kind of looks like a kid did it with crayons. I really prefer the other cover. Luckily, I don't judge books by their cover lol. Thanks for the giveaway!
That concept art makes me kick myself for not taking more art classes. SO talented!
Very cool! Especially the environment designs are gorgeous.
This book seems amazing, it's on my to read list!!!
I LOVE IT. I like it so much more than the actual title cover.
I think the art is pretty cool, though I haven't read the books so I don't quite know what exactly is going on.
Pretty awesome! Wish i was artistic!
It looks cool! Wow. I wish I could draw like that.
It's So good that it makes me envious of my severe lack of talent for anything artistic!! Deserves an "A+" in my book!!!
Thanks for hosting and sharing

I love the concept art. It's so beautiful and really dark. I love the way his hands are stretched out to make it look like he has claws.
