Indie Life is a monthly feature hosted by the fabulous Indelibles where we get to share something related to indie writing life.
(Note: This is the LAST Indie Life posting. But everyone who posts for Indie Life is welcome to join the Insecure Writer's Support Group from now on, if you're not already part of it :-) )

If you're an indie author, you're in charge of getting your own reviews. No publisher to acquire them for you. So yesterday I wrote a post for the Dauntless Authors blog about how to get reviews. It would be awesome if you could head over there and check it out :-)
Please tell me what review-hunting tactics have worked for you and what haven't. I'd love to know!
Thanks :-)

Not at that point yet, but I have compiled a list of reviewers on my site for anyone to use. Hopefully, I'll have to use them soon.
Fantastic post! I don't know of anything to add to it, since I think you covered all bases. :)
I always have a blog tour and that gets me a few reviews, and then there are groups on goodreads that organize reviews too - however most of these stay only on goodreads, most of the reviewers are just readers who post on goodreads, not on blogs or amazon and such.
Most blog tour companies now have a service where you pay like $30 and they send a review request to over 800 book bloggers. Yeah, it's something you could do by yourself, but sending out 800 review requests is time consuming ...
Why does everyone but me seem to know about this being the last indie life thing? Was there a memo?
Those are some great suggestions! I will definitely be saving those links. :)
Thanks, Rachel. What are your thoughts on Xpresso Book Tours? Christy
