Book Trailer Reveal for Susan Kaye Quinn's DEBT COLLECTOR

Here it is!

What's your life worth on the open market?
A debt collector can tell you precisely.

Lirium plays the part of the grim reaper well, with his dark trenchcoat, jackboots, and the black marks on his soul that every debt collector carries. He's just in it for his cut, the ten percent of the life energy he collects before he transfers it on to the high potentials, the people who will make the world a better place with their brains, their work, and their lives. That hit of life energy, a bottle of vodka, and a visit from one of Madam Anastazja's sex workers keep him alive, stable, and mostly sane... until he collects again. But when his recovery ritual is disrupted by a sex worker who isn't what she seems, he has to choose between doing an illegal hit for a girl whose story has more holes than his soul or facing the bottle alone--a dark pit he's not sure he'll be able to climb out of again.

DEBT COLLECTOR is a New Adult Future-Noir serial about a world where your life-worth is tabulated on the open market and going into debt risks a lot more than your credit rating.

Susan Kaye Quinn grew up in California, where she wrote snippets of stories and passed them to her friends during class. Her teachers pretended not to notice and only confiscated her stories a couple times.
Susan left writing behind to pursue a bunch of engineering degrees, but she was drawn back to writing by an irresistible urge to share her stories with her niece, her kids, and all the wonderful friends she’s met along the way.
She doesn’t have to sneak her notes anymore, which is too bad.
Susan writes from the Chicago suburbs with her three boys, two cats, and one husband. Which, it turns out, is exactly as a much as she can handle.

Morgan Media Launch: Morgan Media Does Book Trailers

"Quality author services at affordable prices"

Welcome to the third day of launch week! Today the service being highlighted is ...

Book Trailers

Helping me out today are Cally Jackson, author of the new adult novel The Big Smoke, and Cherie Reich, who has published a lot of short fiction and recently announced plans to publish her debut novel. Creating videos is something I've enjoyed ever since I discovered the simple Windows Movie Maker on my computer about eight or nine years ago, so book trailers are something I've always been keen to do. Now that I have more sophisticated software, I'm able to start experimenting with more complex video editing. Cally and Cherie were kind enough to let me try out my skills on their books!

Cally Jackson, author of The Big Smoke

Cherie Reich, author of The Nightmare Collection

To see more book trailers, visit the book trailers page on the Morgan Media website.

P.S. The electricity went out at home this morning before I wrote and published this blog post, so I'm now sitting at gym doing it. For some reason the browser here is weird and won't let me type anything in Compose mode, so I'm having to do it all in HTML mode. Not ideal!

Oh, and you can still enter the giveaway until the end of Thursday!

Revealing ... The Cover & Trailer for Carrie Butler's STRENGTH!

Carrie Butler's cover for Strength is steaming up my blog today ;-) Have a look!

Designer: Carrie Butler
Photographer: Yuri Arcurs
Title: Strength
Series: Mark of Nexus – Book 1
Publisher: Sapphire Star Publishing
Category: New Adult (NA)
Genre: Paranormal Romance (PNR)
Release Date: March 07, 2013

When college student Rena Collins finds herself nose-to-chest with the campus outcast, her rumor-laced notions are shattered. Handsome, considerate, and seemingly sane, Wallace Blake doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, screaming and banging on the walls of his dorm room. Hell, he doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, period.

Too curious for her own good, Rena vows to uncover the truth behind Wallace’s madman reputation—and how two seconds of contact had left her with bruises. Of course, there are a few minor setbacks along the way: guilt, admiration, feelings of the warm and fuzzy variety…

Not to mention the unwanted attention of Wallace's powerful, supernaturally-gifted family.

They’re a bloodline divided by opposing ideals, two soon-to-be warring factions that live in secret among us. When Rena ends up caught in their crossfire, Wallace has no choice but to save her by using his powers. Now they’re really in trouble. With war on the horizon and Rena’s life in the balance, he needs to put some distance between them. But Rena won’t let go. If fighting is what it takes to prove her own strength and keep Wallace in her life, then that’s what she’ll do—even if it means risking a whole lot more than her heart.

T is for Trailer (the Book Kind)

You know how they make trailers to advertise movies? Well, just in case you're unaware, people now make trailers to advertise books! Book trailers often utilise images a lot more than video clips, and there's generally text on the screen to tell you a bit about the book, though sometimes there's a voice over.

Want to see an example of a book trailer? Here's my first attempt!

I've noticed that Movie Maker for Windows 7 is pretty limited in terms of detailed editing, especially in the sound department. So apologies for the stop-start you may notice between different bits of the "soundtrack".

Do you want your book to have a trailer?
Does a good book trailer influence whether you buy a book or not?
