Photo Friday (8)

Fuller Hall Residence, University of Cape Town

This was my home for almost three years! It was such a beautiful university... I loved the ivy that grew all over the old buildings, and the mountain that rose up behind everything. I still want to write a novel with college-age characters, just so I can make use of my university experience!

Photo Friday (7)

My ankle!

Since I already used this random factoid about myself in one of last year's crusader challenges, I can't use it this time around and hope that you'll all think it's the lie (since some of you know the truth!)

If you're interested in the meaning of this tattoo (I always like to know why someone chose a specific image to permanently ink into their skin)...

Jesus Christ, God's son, Saviour

Kinda cool :-)

Photo Friday (6)

Inanda Seminary students reading.

We've made Stop, Drop and Read a weekly activity at our school this year.
No matter where the girls are, between fourth and fifth period on a Wednesday everyone stops what they're doing, sits down and reads for twenty minutes. I love it!

Yup, that's a Christmas tree made of wine bottles :-)
Taken at Graham Beck wine estate near Stellenbosch.

Photo Friday (4)

Yup, that's me! When I was in Cape Town I visited the Protea Hotel Fire and Ice and on one of their decks upstairs they had this big panel of red light. My friend immediately saw the silhouette photo opportunity, grabbed my camera and told me to go pose in front of the light! (She took a whole lot more than just four, but I didn't want to bore you!)

Photo Friday (3)

Old suitcases at a random antique shop in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal.

Old stuff is cool. I love just looking at old things and imagining the story behind them. Imagining a different time... Old stuff can prove to be a pretty awesome source of inspiration sometimes...

Photo Friday (2)

The Drakensberg Mountains, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

It's a sunset but it kinda reminds me of the way a volcano looks when it's not erupting and you just see the light from all that hot, angry, molten rock down below...

Technically I'm cheating because I didn't actually take this photo myself -- my brother did. But I was there!
