National Novel Writing Month |
I've never done NaNoWriMo before. For the past four Novembers, I've been a teacher, and with November being the second-to-last month before the school year ends, it's one of the most insanely busy months of the year!
But THIS YEAR, I should finally have time to participate. Indeed, as a full-time writer, 50,000 words in one month should be a piece of cake! Although ... I've recently finished writing a 90,000 word novel, and I'll be concluding the blog tour promotions for it on the 29th of October, so it's possible I'll enter November completely exhausted ...
Nevertheless, I've signed up and I'm ready to go! (Sort of. I've been planning this contemporary romance story in my head since a plane flight more than two years ago, but I haven't written down an ACTUAL plan/plot yet. Hello, pantsing!!)
If you're doing NaNo this year and want to add me as your writing buddy, you can find me here.
Oh, and have you seen the writing project Grammarly is undertaking this year?
"We’re accepting submissions through October 25, 2013 from writers at all levels who would like to contribute to a community-written novel. Signing up with your email address will add you to the queue of authors planning to help write the novel, and Grammarly will notify you when it is your turn to contribute up to 800 words to your assigned chapter."
What do you think? Is that something you'd like to take part in?
Find out more here.
I've never done NaNo either but I'd like to. I told myself I wouldn't enter unless I had a complete outline before Oct 31... unfortunately, it doesn't look good, so I may be sitting this one out, though I have been toying with the idea of using Nov to finish, once and for all, my rewrites/edits. I think getting my ms finished up is more important at this point. Anyway, wishing you good luck for November, but I'm sure you won't need it! (:
ReplyDeleteAwesome you're doing NaNo. I haven't done it. It doesn't work for me with working full-time. Good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteOoh good luck! I buddied you. My user name is iceangel. :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you with is for NaNoWriMo. And thank you for telling me/us about the other project. I think I know a few fellow writers I will be passing that on to.

I did it last year. I probably won't do it this year, but the more people who talk about it, the more I might be tempted! Good luck. Pantsing rules!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! If I can beat NaNo, anyone can.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Rachel! I did BuNoWriMo (same thing but in June) and it was sort of a disaster. I didn't go in with a good enough outline, a must for me. I might try NaNo sometime, though.
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad to have you joining NaNo! I've participated since 2009, and it's always a blast.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Rachel. I have did it last year and it is so much fun. It's my preferred method to get that first draft out of my head and onto paper. I added you as a buddy. Good luck.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on doing NaNo this year! I'm also doing. I've done it for several years and I really love writing with the community and it's a lot of fun! I added you as a writing buddy.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! :)
Sorry, I'm not going to buddy you. It's not you; it's me. No, really, it's me.
ReplyDeleteIt's me because I don't NaNo. No NaNo for me. NoNo NaNo.
Okay, I'm going to stop now.
I'm doing Nano as well, good luck.
ReplyDeleteI tried doing NaNo a couple of years ago, but it didn't go well at all. I'm better with a more flexible schedule.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with everything for you NaNo novel next month!
Welcome on board!
ReplyDeleteI just buddied you as natanna. :_
Good luck! I always watch with interest and a wee bit of envy that people can do it but then I get realistic and know I wouldn't even enjoy the stress of it. But you go girl! Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the NaNo experience! :) I've participated most years since 2002, and I just love it.
ReplyDeleteI'll go and add you as a friend there - my name's yoghurtelf. :)
Good luck with NaNo! I'm not sure if I'll do it this year, but I'm starting to get tempted!
ReplyDeleteGo, girl! You can do it! Wish I could, but NaNo doesn't work for me.
ReplyDeleteHave fun, Rachel. Haven't done it in a couple of years. Don't seem to have the time. I look forward to having you at my place come Monday!
ReplyDeleteIf I wasn't heading back to work in November, I'd do nano. Stupid work. Stupid mortgage. Can't somebody else pay my share? ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis might be my first year to participate too. I have the outline ready. It just depends on a few other factors whether I can participate or not.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking this year off to focus on revisions. Good luck!!!
